Cruise to Iceland with MSC Preziosa

On the hunt for the Northern Lights

The Aurora Borealis or "Northern Dawn" is one of the most magical sights on earth. It happens, when the solar wind reaches the Earth's magnetosphere and depending on the height of this encounter, the glow can have different colors. September is the period when the dance of lights can be observed in Iceland and if we are lucky, this will be our most amazing experience during the cruise.

Here we will enjoy one of the most remarkable landscapes in the country, a vast plain of lava with green moss and wildflowers. Icelanders consider this place sacred, the world's oldest legislative parliament was founded here, besides, it's the only place, where two tectonic plates can be seen side by side - the North American and the Eurasian. The next stop will be the huge Gullfoss, or the golden waterfall, this double cascade is one of the most powerful in Europe. Our third visit included the Icelandic geysers, which together with Thingvellir Park and Gullfoss form the Golden Circle tourist route. Here we will see nature in all its glory, as we marvel at the hissing hot springs, from which the name Geyser is derived. A two-course lunch is organized on site, and the excursion is a full day.
