Programs for rural tourism present the Bulgarian village as a village, culture, folklore, ethnography. It is typical for Bulgaria, that different ethnic groups with different religions and traditions live in a small territory. There are many distinctive folklore areas, which are of interest and attraction not only for researchers. Environmental tourism programs include different elements and are cognitive, educational, health-medical and with a justified purpose of protecting the environment. They are tailored for both adults and students. The routes are from the National Program "Bulgarian Ecopaths" developed by BASSET. These are routes, which are located in particularly beautiful and attractive places including elements of living and non-living nature, like rocks, water and biodiversity.. The goal is to see inaccessible natural phenomena up close, gorges/canyons/, bizarre rock formations, waterfalls, caves etc. The routes also include National and Natural Parks such as Golden Sands National Park, "Rousse quarry", "Vrachan Balkan", NP "Rila" and many others.
